Getting and Setting Up Your Personal Learning Device
Guide incoming students and parents through the current PLD procurement and setup process.

Why a Chromebook?
Supports school learning platforms and cloud-based collaboration.
Provides a consistent environment across subjects and classrooms.
Works with the school’s Device Management Application (DMA).
Supports touchscreen and stylus-enabled learning where applicable.
Receives managed security and operating-system updates.
Purchase process
Receive the procurement notification through Parents Gateway.
Review the device bundle, warranty, insurance and payment information.
Submit consent to purchase and the collection authorisation by the stated deadline.
For Singapore Citizen students using Edusave, submit the PDLP Standing Order through the official online form.
Apply for financial assistance through the school, if required.
Make any required payment after receiving the personalised school bill.
Collect the device on the assigned school collection date.
Complete DMA enrolment, login and initial setup.
Payment and use of Edusave
Eligible Singapore Citizen students may use available Edusave funds to pay for the school-prescribed PLD bundle, subject to current MOE arrangements. Parents will be informed if an additional payment is required and will receive the applicable payment instructions.

Singapore Citizen students may use Edusave fully or partly after provision is made for miscellaneous fees.
Parents may choose to pay cash instead of using Edusave.
Permanent Resident and International Student families were instructed to pay through GIRO or PayNow after receiving the personalised bill.
Financial assistance
Financial assistance is available so that no student is deprived of the opportunity to own and learn with a PLD. Parents who require support should contact the school for the current eligibility criteria and application process.

Purchasing your own Chromebook
Parents considering a privately purchased device should contact the school before making a purchase. The device must meet the school’s current hardware, ChromeOS, stylus and DMA requirements before it can be used for lessons.
Use ChromeOS and meet the school’s minimum specifications.
Include a suitable stylus where required for learning.
Be compatible with the school’s DMA.
Be submitted for enrolment and configuration before use in school.

Collection and initial setup
Bring the documents and identification stated in the collection notice.
Check the device, charger, stylus and other included accessories.
Log in using the student’s assigned account.
Complete DMA enrolment and required updates.
Test the keyboard, touchscreen, camera, microphone and stylus.
Label the device and carrying case clearly.
Report any missing or faulty item before leaving the collection venue.
